Just over 250,000 spectators from across each AFL venue experienced a jam-packed round of Premiership football, with the Round 16 competitions receiving an additional boost in entertainment value as the AFL celebrated Multicultural Round across the country. 

The AFL came alive in Cairns when the Gold Coast SUNS travelled to meet Richmond at Cazaly’s Stadium, as 11,197 North Queenslanders embraced the third and final encounter between the two AFL rivals in the tropical hotspot.

Returning Gold Coaster Seb Tape nearly spoiled Jack Reiwoldt’s only major score, the Tiger’s star forward making the weekly Top 10 countdown after converting his difficult running-shot at goal from deep in the forward pocket.
