GC SUNS vice-captain Bess Keaney has won her first Coach’s Award, presented by GANDEN.
The Coach’s Award is decided on by AFLW Head Coach Cameron Joyce and is awarded to the player who is most impressive in all aspects of the program – including on and off field, approach to improvement, performance and fitness.
In her fourth season on the SUNS list, her third consecutive as vice-captain, Keaney was a key cog in the club’s most successful season to date.
Displaying one of the club’s hardest work rates and regularly spotted on a wing, Keaney recorded several career-best figures in 2023 averaging 14.1 disposals across all 11 games for the SUNS.
It’s the latest accolade for the 31-year-old who is also a two-time Most Professional award recipient.
