The Gold Coast SUNS have drafted Bendigo Pioneers product Keely Fullerton with its first selection in Monday night’s AFLW Draft.
The 18-year-old joins the SUNS following a superb 2023 in which she starred in the Coates Talent League for the Pioneers and also represented Vic Country in the U18 National Championships.
Fullerton is a supremely skilled left-footer most commonly seen on a wing but can also be damaging when pushing forward.
The all-round athletic midfielder, known for her strong speed-endurance base, is damaging in possession and has the ability to take on numerous roles in the front half of the ground.
“Keely’s a terrific addition to our squad and we’re thrilled to have her as a Gold Coast SUNS player,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.
“What’s impressed us most is her mix of both speed and endurance, but also the ability to impact games both with and without the ball.
“Her versatility provides plenty of options we’re looking forward to seeing her development continue here at the SUNS.”
Fullerton was selected with pick No.36 in the AFLW draft on Monday night.
