The countdown towards another AFL Fantasy season is fast approaching and there’s plenty of SUNS stars who are pitching a case to find their way into your sides.

With the official Fantasy game not getting underway until Round 1, it’s a luxury of watching your favourite SUNS players go to work in Opening Round before the starting squads are locked in a week later.

Which Gold Coast players do you need to consider in 2024? SUNS Media are here to help!

Sam Flanders (MID/FWD $809k)

By far the most selected SUNS player to date and for good reason. The 22-year-old was able to string together 10 consecutive games at the back end of 2023, surpassing 100 in six of those games and failing to pass 90 points just once.

He finished the campaign with a career-high 146 and a 120.3 average across the last three games, rotating through the forward line and midfield and is available for a juicy $809k.

He won’t be a POD with ownership sitting at 37%, but with a strong pre-season under his belt and prized dual-position status, Ned’s ready to take 2024 by the horns.

Noah Anderson (MID $907k)

The damaging midfielder continues to take his game to new levels, highlighted by a Club Champion honour and a career-high AFL Fantasy average in 2023. Anderson recorded his first triple-figure average finishing with 100.5 for the season from 12 100+ scores.

He’ll set you back $907k, and the return of co-captain Touk Miller into the engine room needs to be considered, but the defending Club Champion finds himself in just 2.21% of sides and is a genuine POD option in the midfield.

Touk Miller (MID $868k)

The skipper was one of the most prized AFL Fantasy possession across 2021 and 2022 before an injury-plagued 2023 only saw him manage 13 games. It was still a matter of quality over quantity however with only four scores, including an injury affected 48, registering under 95 points.

Miller polished off the season with back-to-back triple figure scores and is available for selection at just $868k. If he goes close to his 2021 figures, which included an incredible 11 130+ scores, it could be the bargain of the season.

Jarrod Witts (RUCK $820k)

If a different point of attack is your go-to method, then the big co-captain might just fit the bill. The 31-year-old battled injury throughout 2023 to still post a 90.8 average, his best AFL Fantasy return since 2019.

Ownership of the big ruckman sits below 1% and history suggests he could be a prime early season asset having started both 2022 and 2023 with 137-point outings. He finished with 108 in the last meeting against Round 1 opponents Adelaide and led the league for hitouts per game in 2023.

James Tsitas (FWD $200k)

The fourth highest owned SUNS player has stamped his case for a berth in Damien Hardwick’s side with a super impressive pre-season. With five AFL games under his belt, Tsitas last week suggested he’ll be deployed in a small forward role and is available at a base-price $200k.

Draftees

Four SUNS Academy prospects are ready to make their mark in 2024 - do they have a spot in your team? Key forward Jed Walter will unfortunately miss the opening rounds of the season with a collarbone injury but fellow first round picks Ethan Read (RUCK $276k), Jake Rogers (MID $261K) & Will Graham (DEF/MID $225k) are putting their names in the ring for a debut early in the season.

Of the group, Graham’s ownership sits as the most unique at 1.62% whilst also boasting dual position status.
