Gold Coast acting skipper Steven May has polled a perfect ten in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award.
It's just the fourth time the defender has polled this season, and his round 20 performance was not only a standout for the season, but arguably his career.
May was seemingly there every time the Sherrin entered the Giants forward half, collecting 27 disposals, 14 marks (seven intercept) and five rebound 50s, prompting coaches Rodney Eade and Leon Cameron to give the Northern Territorian top marks.

Fellow leader Tom Lynch mirrored May’s elite abilities at the other end of the ground, earning himself seven AFLCA votes.
With only three rounds remaining, Lynch currently sits on 67 votes overall and inside the top 10.
Following each game of the 2016 season, coaches from both teams vote on who they believed to be most instrumental to the game. Each coach votes for five players, allocating a score form 1-5. The maximum a player can register for a single game is 10 votes.
