Gold Coast SUNS small forward Malcolm Rosas is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring in the Round 5 clash against Hawthorn.
Rosas is expected to miss eight weeks after scans revealed significant damage to his hamstring.
“Mal was subbed out of the match after an incident in the third quarter in which he injured his hamstring,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update.
“Further assessment has indicated he’s undergone a significant injury and while he won’t require surgery, we expect Mal to be out of action for 8 weeks.”
Key defender Sandy Brock has been cleared to play after fracturing his forearm in the VFL, while Jy Farrar (thumb) and Lloyd Johnston (hamstring) are both one week away from a return.
