Bodhi Uwland has been recognised as the HOSTPLUS Most Professional player for the 2024 season.

With just three AFL games to his name prior to the season commencing, Uwland had a breakout campaign in 2024 which saw the hard-nosed defender play 21 games.

The StreetSmarts SUNS Academy product quickly became a fan favourite, winning the Austworld Player of the Round award five times due to his ability to win critical contests, and selfless attitude to defend at all costs for the team.

Uwland has also been recognised by the AFL industry and his peers, placing sixth in the 2024 Rising Star award and third in the SUNS’ David Swallow Award for players’ player.

2024 is Uwland’s third season on the SUNS’ list – his first season was spent in rehab as he overcame a stress fracture in his back.

The HOSTPLUS Most Professional award is voted on by the club’s coaching, high performance and medical staff – encompassing all components of what it takes to be a professional footballer.

Uwland joins previous award winners Levi Casboult (2023), Ben Ainsworth (2022), Brayden Fiorini (2021) and Touk Miller (2020).
