After a breakout season at both ends of the ground, Mac Andrew has been named the People First Bank Emerging Player for 2024.

After starting the season outside the best 22, Andrew played his first match in Round 4 and never looked back, going on to play 20 games straight to finish the year.

Playing the majority of the season as a key defender, Andrew averaged 14 disposals, six marks, six intercept possessions, two intercept marks and two tackles per game.

In Round 21 against West Coast, with just one career goal to his name, Andrew was swung forward to play as a marking target alongside Ben King.

He kicked three goals against the Eagles, followed by a bag of four against Essendon the following week, including the moment of the season when he kicked a goal after the siren to snare the club’s first win away from home.

Andrew has established himself as a genuine swingman of the competition and will be a key player to watch in 2025 and beyond.
