SUNS Female Academy players Dee Heslop, Serene Watson and Taylor Smith along with Summer Academy player Georgia Breward have been invited to test at the NAB AFLW Draft Combine.
The AFL on Wednesday released the names of the 45 players invited to take part in the Combine in early October.
SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona McLarty told SUNS Media it was a fantastic result for the four girls to be nominated.
“Dee and Serene have played for us through the Winter Series, as has Taylor who is still relatively new to the game,” McLarty said.
“It’s also really pleasing to see Georgia invited after she’s worked so hard with her ACL recovery in the last few months.
“She was part of our Summer Academy and this nomination just shows that all her hard work off the field is starting to pay off.”
Queensland have eight players invited, with an even split between SUNS Academy and Lions Academy players.
Vic Metro has the largest list of invitees with 15 players selected to take part, followed by Vic Country with 10 players invited.
South Australia and Western Australia have four players each, NSW/ACT have three and Tasmania will be represented by one player.
AFLW Clubs each shortlist their preferred players to attend the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft Combine with each of the 45 players invited receiving at least one AFLW Club nomination.
43 players selected for the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft Combine participated in the year's NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships with 14 players selected in the 2019 NAB AFLW All-Australian Team.
The 2019 NAB AFLW Draft Combine will test players skills, agility and strength through a series of tests including the 20-metre sprint and vertical jump, along with goal kicking and marking tests.
AFL Head of Women's Football Nicole Livingstone said the Draft Combine is the final chance players will get to showcase their skills before the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft.
"The Draft Combine will see the country's best young female talent showcase their skills on and off the field in front of AFLW club recruiters," Livingstone said.
"Following a successful 2019 NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships, Club recruiters will get their final chance to assess on-field skills as well as conducting one-on-one interviews with players throughout the week."
The 2019 NAB AFLW Draft Combine will move from Marvel Stadium for the first time, with the new venue to be confirmed by the end of August.
