Gold Coast have named a 30-man squad for Sunday’s JLT Community Series game against the Geelong Cats in Townsville.

Fans will get their first look at Lachie Weller, who returned home to the Gold Coast after playing 47 games for Fremantle.

After making a successful return from injury during the AFLX Tournament, utility Sam Day has been included in the extended squad.

Pearce Hanley and Jarrod Witts, fresh off their elevation into the SUNS’ leadership group, have been named alongside fellow leaders Tom Lynch, Touk Miller, Matt Rosa and Michael Barlow.

The extended squad will be trimmed to 26, which includes eight interchange players, on Friday afternoon.

Sunday’s game at Riverway Stadium in Townsville starts at 3.35pm (AEST), with main gates open from 2pm.

Gold Coast members with match access will have free entry to the 2018 JLT Community Series matches in which the SUNS are competing.

Members with match access can simply scan their membership card for free general admission access (subject to capacity).
