After a heavy loss to the Demons, Stuart Dew and the rest of the SUNS’ match committee could make multiple changes to the team that will take on Richmond this Saturday.

 Captain Steven May has served his one-game suspension, and should slot straight back into defence, while midfielder David Swallow is likely to return if he passes all concussion protocols.

Rory Thompson missed last week’s game due to hamstring tightness and would be a welcome return to help shut down a dangerous Richmond forward line alongside May.

With the news that Peter Wright will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, another tall forward will be needed to take his place.

That player could be Brayden Crossley, with an immediate return to AFL level on the cards having recovered from his facial fracture.

Gold Coast’s NEAFL team had the bye last week but prior to that, Ben Ainsworth and Michael Barlow showed some solid form and could provide a boost to the SUNS’ midfield.

Midfielder Jarryd Lyons was omitted after the loss to Carlton and could also be a contender for a return.
