Captain Tom Lynch's outstanding game against Carlton has been recognised by the coaches, who awarded him maximum votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.

The perfect ten comes after the key forward turned in a formidable display where he finished with a career-best eight goals.

Lynch worked over a number of opponents worked over a number of opponents as he racked up 21 disposals and 13 score involvements.

Midfielder Jarryd Lyons (eight votes) also had a strong game, gathering 36 touches, including 26 contested possessions, and 14 clearances.

Despite Lynch dominating proceedings in the forward line, Jack Martin managed to kick three goals from his 15 disposals, earning him four votes from the coaches.

David Swallow (three votes), Nick Holman (two votes) and Jarrod Witts (two votes) rounded out the SUNS who were recognised by Stuart Dew and his Blues counterpart Brendon Bolton.
