When the Gold Coast SUNS defeated North Melbourne by 19 points on Saturday night, six players were able to “raise the bat," claiming AFL Fantasy scores of 100 or more against their name.

In fact, eight of the 10 highest scorers on the ground were wearing a red and gold jumper, highlighting what an impressive effort it was from the young SUNS outfit.

They were led by Jarryd Lyons (133) and Gary Ablett (127)– the club’s consistent, in and under midfielders – who led the possession count on the ground with 39 and 37 touches respectively for Ablett’s highly anticipated 300th AFL game.

Lyons’ has been nothing short of superb since joining the Gold Coast SUNS from Adelaide and has hit good form in the past month in particular.

This is highlighted by the fact he has an average score of 114.6 over his last five games alone, bringing is season average up to 99.5 a game.

Remarkably, he is still owned by just 0.37% of AFL Fantasy coaches despite his strong run of form.

In his 300th AFL game, Ablett continued to do what Ablett does: score big and score consistently.

To celebrate the milestone the Little Master put on a show, reminding everyone why he is considered arguably the greatest AFL Fantasy player of all time with 127 points bringing his average for the season up to 118.9.

Incredible numbers for a man who is 33 years of age.

Tom Lynch and David Swallow re-found some form with 117 points and 109 points respectively whilst Braydon Fiorini continues to impress with 112 points.

ROOKIE WATCH

First year excitement machine, Ben Ainsworth continues to show why he was so highly rated at last years draft with 81 points on the back of a four goal haul on Saturday night.

The number four pick at last years draft has already had his price tag rise by $89,000,now sitting at $333,000.

He may be perhaps a bit too expensive to jump on now but watch out for this kid in years to come.

With performances like this likely to become more and more regular, he is sure to be a future AFL Fantasy premium in the forward half of the ground.
