The Gold Coast SUNS reserves will be boosted this week with the return of six Academy players from Under 18 state duties.
Brad Scheer, Jack Bowes, Josh Williams, Max Spencer, Daniel Charlesworth and Nick Kempe all represented the Allies in the recent Division One national championships and will line up for the SUNS reserves this Saturday against the Lions reserves at Metricon Stadium.
The six will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Gold Coaster Jesse Joyce, who used the NEAFL as a stepping-stone last year to elevate himself onto the SUNS list and is set to play his fifth senior game this weekend.
Jesse Lonergan returns to football via the reserves after missing the past two games with glandular fever, while Jaeger O’Meara continues his return to football via the NEAFL.
The West Australian made his long-awaited return in the reserves last week, accumulating 15 disposals in a half of football and is expected to play approximately three quarters of the game against the Lions.
