2014 Club Champion David Swallow is set to play his first game of football in over 12 months, named on a half-forward flank for the Gold Coast SUNS reserves for their clash against Southport on Sunday.
Swallow is one of just eight listed players named to face the Sharks, returning after a long-term layoff with a PCL injury.
“(I'm) pretty excited. It’s been a long road back but starting to see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel,” Swallow told SUNS TV.
“It’ll be nice just to run out there and get out with the boys.”
The West Australian is scheduled to play a half of football.
Ruckman Dan Currie also comes into the side after missing several weeks with a broken finger, however tall timber Henry Schade, Jack Leslie and Cam Loersch all miss with injury.
Adam Saad and Keegan Brooksby have been elevated to the senior team.
First bounce is at Southport Sharks at 1:30PM on Sunday.
The game can be viewed from three unique areas at Sharks: on ground level at Fankhauser Reserve, behind floor-to-ceiling glass windows at Frenzy Food Court or the open air vantage point in the Cabana Bar and Lounge.
