Tom Lynch is already one of the best forwards in the game, but Barry Hall says he can help the Gold Coast star become even better.
Speaking on his first day as a SUNS' coaching member, Hall said Lynch was one of his favourite players and he couldn't wait to work with him.
While the 2005 Sydney premiership captain was known for his aggression during his playing days with the Saints, Swans and Bulldogs, it's other elements he'll be trying to impart on the SUNS.
"Something I had to learn over 17 years in my AFL career is thinking through the game a bit more," Hall said.

"Yes, they're strong, tall and quick, they are really good players, they're skillful, but you actually have to think through the game and use all those tools to your advantage.
"(It's) Something I learnt over the last three or four years of my career and something I wish I learnt a bit earlier, so they're the things I'll be trying to talk to them about, thinking your way through the game a bit more."
Hall says he sees a bit of himself in Lynch, particularly in the way he uses his aggression to change the course of matches.
"As a leader you have to try and change stuff, and he has got that," he said.
"I'm excited and that's why I love watching him. He is considered one of the best key forwards in the game and he's got so much improvement still in his game."

Hall was also full of praise for third-year forward Peter Wright, who he said needed just 10 disposals in a match to have an influence, so good was his ball use.
During his 289-game career Hall kicked 746 goals, secured three All Australian selections, won the Bob Skilton Medal as Sydney's best and fairest in 2004 and received 11 leading goalkicker awards.
His appointment will also see him reunite with former coach Rodney Eade, who he played under in his final two seasons in the AFL at the Western Bulldogs (2010-11).
Hall will juggle the role with his TV commitments.
