Gold Coast SUNS coach Rodney Eade is not hitting the panic button despite his side's 0-2 start to the year.
Most would have pencilled the Gold Coast in for a 2-0 start but an eight-goal St Kilda second-quarter blew the SUNS out of the water in their first 2015 home game on Saturday.
Gold Coast's effort was heavily criticised after their shock first-round loss to Melbourne and the rhetoric in the lead-up to Saturday night's match was focused rebounding.

RODNEY Eade described his team's ball use as “horrific”, but said Saturday night's loss against St Kilda was a vast improvement on the previous week's against Melbourne.
Eade lamented Gold Coast's deplorable effort against the Demons seven days earlier, but was in a far better mood after losing to the Saints, despite trailing by as much as 53 points during the third quarter.
The SUNS' coach said the effort was generally there this week and he was pleased with a second half fightback when it would have been easier to throw in the towel.
Gold Coast SUNS suffer second-straight loss at the hands of St Kilda but there’s no panic from coach Rodney Eade
The Courier Mail
Greg Davis
GOLD Coast senior coach Rodney Eade is refusing to panic despite his side crashing to a second-straight loss to a competition cellar-dweller at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.
A week after being humbled by Melbourne, the highly fancied SUNS crashed to a 28-point loss to wooden spoon favourite St Kilda.
The Saints kicked eight goals to one in the second term to set up the win over the lacklustre SUNS.
Eade was happy with three of the four quarters and said the performance was superior to the defeat at the hands of the Demons. But there was no hiding the horror of the second term.
Rodney Eade prepared for Gold Coast SUNS to dip in 2015 as club plans assault on finals, premiership

NEW Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade says he is prepared for the SUNS to take backwards steps this year if it primes them for a premiership tilt.
The SUNS are already under intense pressure, winless against 2014’s bottom two sides and with captain Gary Ablett clearly favouring his reconstructed shoulder.
Already Eade has dished out his brand of tough love, dropping talented pair Trent McKenzie and Brandon Matera and ruling out Andrew Boston from all levels of football.
