Set to play his 100th game on Saturday against West Coast, SUNS midfielder Aaron Hall has credited his success in Gold Coast
Hall and partner Sophia welcomed their first child Penelope into the world in late December, and the dashing SUNS wingman says his entire outlook on life has been transformed.
“She’s (Penelope) been huge for me, she gives me perspective,” Hall told SUNS TV.
“She’s a bundle of joy to be around. Whenever you’ve had a bad day or a rough game like last weekend it’s always good to have her about.
“Her and my partner have been phenomenal and I’m really, really happy that I can share these moments with them.”
While he hasn’t dwelled too much on his upcoming milestone, Hall said he was proud of what he’s been able to achieve in his career so far at the SUNS.
“It’s obviously a fleeting moment that you look back on and recollect over your 100 games,” he said.
“I’m quite humbled
“To reach 100 games – I was drafted as a mature age recruit and I didn’t think I’d play one, so to come up to the 100th game mark for a quick moment you sort of look at it and relapse and recollect and have a think about everything.”
Despite a difficult game personally last weekend against Fremantle, the Tasmanian has moved on quickly with the support of Sophia and Penelope who have both stayed by his side in Perth.
“It’s been phenomenal (to have them) over here for the week,” Hall said.
“(The 100th game) probably means more to my family and my partner and her family.
“These milestones, it’s a chance for those guys to come over here as well and I know they’re very proud and I’m looking forward to having a good night and getting the victory.”
The 27-year-old joins fellow SUNS Sam Day and David Swallow as players to have reached 100 games this season, but he isn’t letting it overshadow the task at hand.
“I came here not really expecting much, I just tried to get the best out of everything that I do and just try to give my best every week,” he said.
“Sammy Day and Dave Swallow, those guys have reached the milestones so I think we’re all getting to that time where we are reaching those milestones.
“It’s obviously a great achievement for all those guys but more importantly we just want to get the win.”
