Could this be the 2012 Goal of the year? The roar from those at Metricon Stadium suggests it may well be, however we need you to be the judge.
Gold Coast star Gary Ablett has been nominated for the Origin AFL Goal of the Year after landing this clever goal against Carlton at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.
Carlton supporters watched in disbelief whilst the SUNS faithful watched again as the Gold Coast skipper created something special from nothing, Ablett pivoting inside after forcing his opponent Marc Murphy to over commit and from 45m out and on a tight angle, he swung the ball across his body to kick a spectacular snap goal.
It was a crucial goal for the SUNS who had established a commanding lead early in their match against the Blues. A game eventually won by the GC SUNS, 15-8-98 TO 11-20-86.
