Gold Coast SUNS player Karmichael Hunt has been cited by the match review committee and charged with a first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire.
The match review committee found that Karmichael who once again revelled in the midfield for the Gold Coast SUNS, made negligent contact with umpire Brett Kronk during the first quarter of the clubs round four NAB Cup match against the Sydney Swans at Blacktown International Sports park on Saturday afternoon.
The former Rugby League international can accept a $900 sanction should he accept an early plea.
A first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire carries a $1,200 sanction, however Hunt is eligible for a 25% reduction with an early plea.
