Gold Coast’s Jack Martin has developed into a a genuine all-rounder and is often called upon to fill a number of roles for the team.

Such is his flexibility that earlier this year Senior Coach Rodney Eade declared that he’d “like to have three Jacks; one forward, one back and one in the midfield.”

Now into his fourth season at AFL level, the utility will reach the 50-game milestone on Saturday night when the SUNS take on North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

Arriving at the SUNS as a fresh-faced 17-year-old via the 2012 Mini Draft, Martin was forced to spend 12 months developing in the NEAFL before he was eligible to play at AFL level.

His first two seasons were marred by injuries, however the prodigiously talented West Australian bounced back to play 21 games last season and earned himself third place in the Club Champion.

In February this year, he provided a big boost to the SUNS when he re-signed for a further two years.

Martin’s poise and quality decision-making are a valuable asset no matter where he plays and he has made a bright start to the 2017 season playing in the forward line.

His skill and versatility are crucial to the team and if he is on song this Saturday night, it will go a long way towards the SUNS taking home four premiership points.
