SUNS midfielder Brandon Ellis is set to return to training this week as he eyes off an AFL return for Round 3.
Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update that Ellis would be a test for the match against Adelaide on Sunday.
“Brandon will re-join training through the week and then we’ll see how he goes,” Bull said.
“(We’ll) discuss with the coaches and Brandon and the High Performance team as to how he’s tracking and make a decision from there regarding the weekend.”
In positive news, there were no significant injuries to come from the Round 2 victory over West Coast.
Sam Day copped a knee in the back during a marking contest early in the match but Bull said there were no concerns he would miss any time.
“Sam finished the game pretty well and he’s pulled up ok today so there won’t be too many restrictions this week for Sam,” Bull said.
Anthony Miles remains on the injury list with a short-term hamstring concern, while George Horlin-Smith and Mitch Riordan are carrying longer-term injuries.
