The Gold Coast SUNS have reached 10,000 Members prior to the 2014 season, the fifth consecutive year the club has reached 10k members.

It is fantastic news for the GC SUNS, with the milestone being passed a one month earlier than in 2013.

GC SUNS CEO – Travis Auld believes the strong membership push is a direct result of the player’s growing confidence, with many supporters excited at the side’s on-field chances this season.

“It has been terrific to see our growing fan base continue supporting the club in a membership capacity,” Auld said.

“Memberships are the lifeblood behind every football club and because of this, it is important we continue to build on our past membership figures and protect and grow our future strategic vision.”

The major membership milestone comes on the back of the club’s FIRE UP February campaign, where the GC SUNS Fan Development team travelled from suburb to suburb in a bid to FIRE UP Gold Coasters for the upcoming season.

And although the current tally is expected to surge closer to 11,000 in the lead-up to the side’s Round 1 opener against Richmond at Metricon Stadium, General Manager Marketing, Fan Development & Community Kelly Ryan, encouraged un-renewed fans and supporters to sign on as members ahead of what promises to be a club-defining 2014 campaign.

“It has been terrific to see the off-field support continue to rise for the Gold Coast SUNS,” Ryan said.

“It has been great to see the Gold Coast embrace us as we worked our way around the suburbs in FIRE UP February. There is definitely an air of excitement around and this has been demonstrated in existing and new members joining us for 2014. We are delighted to have reached another significant membership milestone, and will continue to stay relentless in our pursuit of our overall goal of 20,000 members.”
