Fan favourite Liam Patrick sent an injury scare through the GC SUNS camp after being carried from the ground during a match simulation drill on Thursday at Metricon Stadium.

Patrick, 24, injured his right hamstring and was sent for scans on Thursday afternoon to determine the extent of the damage. Goldcoastfc.com.au will update fans of the extent of the injury when the details become available.

SUNS TV captured the injury.

Patrick got an extended run in the seniors with eight successive games late in the 2012 season before a knee injury cost him the final three weeks.

Recruited to the GC SUNS from Lajamanu in the Northern Territory, Patrick not only showed flashes of brilliance in the forward half, but to his coach’s delight, started upping the ante with his defensive pressure as well.

Patrick was rewarded with another one-year contract at the end of the 2012 season.
