KARMICHAEL Hunt and Michael Rischitelli are considered a strong chance to make their return from injury, needing to complete Wednesday’s main training session before taking to the field this weekend.

Calf and hamstring injuries have largely impacted Hunt’s third AFL Season, with the former Rugby League convert limited to just seven senior matches and two NEAFL matches in 2013.

Unfortunately, the news hasn’t been any better for the club’s Deputy Vice-Captain, who after overcome a 2013 campaign plagued with hamstring tendonitis, sustained an elbow injury in the side’s Round 12 match against Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

But the grass appears to be greener for the rehabilitated Gold Coasters, with GC SUNS High Performance Manager Stephen Schwerdt telling goldcoastfc.com.au the pair have worked tirelessly in their restricted training programs and appear to be on the mend.

“Both Karmichael and Michael have been progressing well in their rehabilitation programs, and while they will still face fitness tests, we expect them to be fully fit and ready to get back to playing football.”

In other news, Tom Nicholls will face a test after missing the flight over to Perth with a knee injury, while Matthew Warnock will also be out to prove his fitness after sustaining an Achilles injury.
