Seb Tape will be closely monitored by the Club’s medical staff this week after suffering a concussion against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Stretchered off the ground mid-way through the second quarter, the key defender required multiple stitches to his head after a bump by Power midfielder Hamish Harlett caught the Gold Coaster off guard.

Fortunately Tape has since recovered well from the collision, and resumed light training in hope of being passed fit to take on St. Kilda at Etihad Stadium this weekend.

GC SUNS High Performance Manager – Stephen Schwerdt, gave goldcoastfc.com.au an exclusive insight into his progress.

“Seb got a pretty nasty knock in that collision and felt a bit ordinary after the match,” Schwerdt said.

“But since then he has recovered pretty well and will go through the normal procedure of concussion and will be tested daily by the doctor.”

“If augurs well he’ll be available, if not he won’t be play.”

In better news, Sam Day remains a chance to take on the Saints with the power forward noted as a “test”.

“Sam had a minor hamstring strain last week and has come back pretty good.”

“He’s a chance to train full on Wednesday and if all goes well will be available for selection.”
