Match day entertainment has taken centre stage during the official launch of the Gold Coast SUNS 2013 television commercial.

In a members exclusive, the Clubs 2013 members were the first to preview the action packed video which makes it’s on air debut this week.

While AFL footy remains central to the Clubs new TVC, capturing the match day experience the GC SUNS have become recognised around the country for, was also a pivotal component during production of the 30 second clip.

General Manager of Marketing, Community and Fan Development Kelly Ryan said initial feedback had been positive.

“We are very proud of what this TV ad portrays, it certainly isn’t your traditional football TV ad but you don’t receive a traditional football experience when you come to a game at Metricon Stadium” said Ryan.

The TV ad continues to build on our current “Take Your Seat” campaign which also highlights the full entertainment proposition that guests attending matches at Metricon Stadium receive.

Rising local artists The Vernons have been selected as the sound of the GC SUNS in 2013 with the Gold Coast bands hit new single “Honey” being used in the new commercial and on game days this season.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of the GC SUNS new campaign launch for the 2013 AFL Season. We are very excited for proceedings to get under way and we can't wait to see our track 'Honey' used throughout their campaign. We thank the GC SUNS for supporting us and local Australian music and we wish them all the best for their 2013 season" Jonny Nyst, The Vernons.

Fresh from playing on the recent Big Day Out tour and supporting fellow Australian artists the Rubens, The Vernons were selected to provide the soundtrack for the GC SUNS 2013 campaign after an exhaustive search.

“We are delighted to have partnered with The Vernons who have supplied their latest song “Honey” which will appear in this TV ad and across all our social and game day channels during the year. The Vernons will also open the season with a live performance at our Round 1 game on March 30” said Ryan.

This TV ad forms a part of a broader marketing campaign that will be executed throughout the year across a number of platforms.

GC SUNS General Manager of Communications and Content Jason Sintome said the search for a quality local band to headline the campaign had unearthed a host of quality artists who have since been booked to perform on the Clubs Game Day TV Sound Stage.

“We are really excited by the calibre of  local artists who will feature on the Game Day TV Sound Stage throughout the year, the South East corner is home to a host of amazingly talented emerging and established artists and we look forward to providing them with a platform to perform on, and look forward to introducing them to new audiences here at Metricon Stadium in 2013” Sintome said.
