Tune into SUNS TV to watch the 2011 journey

It’s hard to believe that the Gold Coast SUNS are already half way through their debut AFL season and hasn’t it been a remarkable journey?

From the sea of Red support at our first ever match against Carlton to the sell out spectacle of our first ever match at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast against Geelong, the support from our members has been outstanding.

We hope that you have shared and enjoyed the intricate and special footy moments as much as we have.

It seems like a life time ago that an inexperienced GC SUNS outfit shocked the AFL world with wins against the Sydney Swans and GWS in the NAB Cup, while you can still hear the roar from the Gabba crowd as Charlie Dixon found his way between the sticks to post the Gold Coast SUNS first ever Premiership goal.

What about the Gold Coast SUNS overpowering of Port when Guy McKenna’s charges tasted victory with a thrilling upset win in Adelaide.

Two weeks later and the Gold Coasters were at it again, this time it was former Lion Jarred Brennan terrorising his former team mates to win the inaugural Marcus Ashcroft Medal as the GC SUNS lifted the Q Clash Cup with their second win over a bitterly disappointed Brisbane Lions outfit.

In years to come though, you’ll be talking about the opening night at Metricon Stadium when a former league star sent the capacity crowd into a frenzy with a long range bomb from outside sixty metres. It was one of those unforgettable sporting moments.

There have been stunning debuts, and many magical moments and for us the pleasing thing is that we’ve been there, enjoying every moment together.

Thank you again for your ongoing support, we look forward to seeing you at Metricon stadium again this Saturday when your Gold Coast SUNS create even more memorable moments.
