The Gold Coast SUNS are set for a quiet exchange period, with General Manager Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft declaring the GC SUNS priority has been to retain its elite core group of players.

Upon entering the 2013 Exchange Period at Etihad Stadium Ashcroft dismissed any suggestion that David Swallow may be traded to Melbourne.

When quizzed, Ashcroft said it was simply a "rumour" with no substance.

Ashcroft was also asked if the GC SUNS were poised to make a play for out of favour Magpie Heath Shaw, however the clubs football chief said it was "unlikely"

All clubs must use a minimum of three selection at the NAB AFL Draft and with the GC SUNS currently holding selections 5, 18 and 23 at the 2013 NAB AFL Draft and with the addition of Jack Martin to the senior list the GC SUNS have a full list of 40 senior players.
