The increasing membership tally stands at 12,024 with the Club’s membership call centre receiving a steady flow of calls from AFL and sports fans across the region looking to show their support on the Gold Coast.
GC SUNS General Manager of Marketing, Community and Fan Development - Kelly Ryan, said the Club continued to be amazed by the continued support from the rapidly developing AFL community on the Gold Coast.
“We have been delighted once again with the support from the Gold Coast and across the country that has enabled the Club to surpass last year’s membership tally,” said Ryan.
“The continued support of members who have been with us for a number of years, along with all our new members give us great faith in what we are doing, we are very humbled by the support.”
Local business owner Dan Whitton, who purchased over 30 GC SUNS memberships for his Fast Proof Press employees, told goldcoastfc.com.au it was also important for local business to get behind the community-based Football Club as it strives towards securing 20,000 members through 20-ONE-3.
“We’ve been supporting the GC SUNS since day one and we strongly believe the support and partnership has helped increase the profile of our business,” said Whitton.
“If more companies like Fast Proof Press were to be more proactive, then the club and community would be able to get the numbers towards 20,000 members quite easily.”
Ryan said the Club remained committed towards working tirelessly to achieving GC SUNS Chairman John Witheriff’s bold vision of 20,000 members and one premiership in the next three years.
“We are well on our way to achieving the membership target of 20,000 members as part of the Club’s 20-ONE-3 vision and continue to encourage people to really become a part of the Club by signing on as a member.”
