Nathan Bock will make his long awaited return to senior football against the West Coast Eagles Patersons Stadium this afternoon.

Bock will replace Andrew Boston, who is a late withdrawal from the Gold Coast SUNS team.

The GC SUNS Vice Captain hasn’t played at AFL level since severely breaking his leg in Round 6, 2012 against Fremantle at Metricon Stadium.

Making his return to the side via the GC SUNS reserves, Bock has appeared in seven NEAFL matches where he’s predominantly has played as a forward, kicking 20 goals including a nine goal haul against Aspley just two weeks ago.

Speaking to goldcoastfc.com.au earlier this year, Bock said he was always confident of returning.

“I’ve always been very positive and optimistic that I would regain full fitness and get back to playing senior footy,” Bock said.

In other team news, forward Timmy Sumner has been named as the substitute.
