A stand-out performance against the Brisbane Lions has thrown Danny Stanley in the hunt for the 2013 Gold Coast SUNS Club Championship, with the hard-running on-baller earning the top votes for this week’s Club Champion countdown after a fantastic display at the Gabba on Saturday afternoon. 

Finishing with a solid 20 touches, three marks and equal team-high four clearances, Stanley was given the tough defensive assignment on Lion’s star Daniel Rich, and kept the damaging midfielder to just 13 disposals – neutralising the opposition’s best ball-winner impact on the contest.

Jared Brennan is likely to receive plenty of attention from Richmond at Cazaly’s Stadium this weekend, after the Veteran SUN starred in his return to Premiership footy – finishing with 21 disposals and a team-high 3 goals as he did to lift his teammates in absence of skipper Gary Ablett.

The 28-year-old utility earning four Club Champion points for his great performance. 

David Swallow wasn’t going to let his opportunity around the centre circle go to waste, with the hard-working midfielder finishing with a second-best 23 disposals and four clearances to finish alongside Stanley as the team’s leading clearance winners… Swallow receiving three Club Champion points for his great efforts around the contested football.  

Jarrod Harbrow enjoyed roaming around the goals after being named alongside Steven May and Aaron Hall at half-forward, providing a much-needed spark inside-50 for Guy McKenna as the lively midfielder finished with 20 disposals and a goal for his efforts… Harbrow earning two Club Champion points for his solid work around goals.
