Voting for the Austworld Player of the Round is now open after the victory over Fremantle at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

This year fans have the opportunity to have their say and vote for the Austworld Player of the Round to be announced on Monday morning.

SUNS co-captain Jarrod Witts led from the front and dominated in the ruck, helping Gold Coast win the clearances 37 to 22.

He finished the the day with 38 hitouts, 12 disposals and five marks. 

Witts was supported in the midfield by Touk Miller, Gold Coast’s equal leading disposal-getter with 20. 

Matt Rowell had another consistent match, kicking two goals to go with 20 disposals and five tackles. 

Midfielder Brandon Ellis had his best game in SUNS colours with 20 disposals and seven marks and provided plenty of run on the wing.

Ben King was the spark early in the match, kicking two goals in two minutes to give Gold Coast the lead at half time.

Veteran defender Jarrod Harbrow was rock solid in the backline, intercepting well for eight marks and 14 disposals.

He was supported by Jack Bowes (19 disposals) and Sam Collins who impressed against his former club, cutting off attacks with his intercept marking.
