The Gold Coast SUNS are excited to be hosting two matches on the Gold Coast within ten days with confirmation this afternoon that the GC SUNS will play the Brisbane Lions in the final round of the NAB Challenge series.
The GC SUNS will play the Sydney Swans at Southport at 3:00pm tomorrow, Saturday 5th March, and will match up against the Brisbane Lions the following week, Sunday 13th March, also at Southport.
“It’s great for us to have two matches on the Gold Coast to round out our pre-season campaign,” GC SUNS CEO Travis Auld said.
Auld said the Club was really looking forward to tomorrows match at Southport.
“Tomorrow will be an exciting day for us, there is a buzz around the Club and we can’t wait play at Southport tomorrow in front of our fans in what will be our first game on the Gold Coast at AFL level.
Auld admitted the following weeks match against the Brisbane Lions will be a bumper way to close the SUNS pre-season and a busy weekend of sport on the Gold Coast.
“We’re really looking forward to playing the Lions next week and are thrilled that the AFL has scheduled the game on Sunday giving everyone on the coast the opportunity to enjoy a huge weekend of sport,” Auld said.
