With the SUNS NEAFL team recording a 13-point win over Southport on the weekend, two players in particular have put their hand up for senior selection.

Brayden Fiorini could become the 40th player used by the SUNS in season 2016 if coach Rodney Eade gives the Victorian a debut start.

Fiorini collected 40 disposals, 14 marks, eight clearances and booted two goals in a dominant performance in the reserves and would become the last of the SUNS 2015 national draft crop to make their AFL debut after missing the majority of the year with a knee injury.

Defender Sean Lemmens had 36 disposals and 10 marks in the twos and may be in line for a senior recall after being omitted for last week’s game.

Alex Sexton and Nick Malceski are both listed as tests in this week’s Optomo Injury Update and are important players for the Gold Coast. They will come under consideration if they can pass fitness tests later in the week.
