Gold Coast SUNS players have thrown their support behind Coach Guy McKenna with second-year midfielder Dion Prestia saying McKenna had a rapport with the players that was hard to beat. "I find Bluey (McKenna) really good, he's really approachable," Prestia said. "All the boys that have come from different clubs have also said that he's really approachable compared to some of the other coaches in the League. "I'm happy with Bluey." Gold Coast won three games during their debut season and while McKenna isnt being judged on wins and losses, there is expectation from most quarters the senior team will continue to show improvement during season 2012. Former Melbourne defender Matthew Warnock has just completed his first pre-season with Gold Coast and said the players had not spoken about McKenna's contract. "He's been really positive. He's been a great influence on the group since I've been here," Warnock said. "He communicates really well with the boys and is really positive around the place." Gold Coast completed a solid two-hour session at Metricon Stadium on Wednesday morning before being given the rest of the week off. They will then prepare for round one on March 31 against NAB Cup premiers Adelaide. Prestia believed the exposure the Crows received during the NAB Cup could work against them. "I think only two of our games were telecast and all their games were telecast, so we got more exposure to what their game plans are going to be like," he said. "It gives us a bit more idea of it so it's a bit of an advantage for us. Warnock said Gold Coast hoped to catch the Crows a bit flat. "The good thing for us is we've seen a little bit of them already and they've had a couple of pretty intense games so hopefully that might have taken a little bit of a toll on them and we might get them at a good time in round one." Gold Coast had almost a full contingent of players on the training track, with Trent McKenzie (knee) and Rory Thompson (groin) taking part in contested drills.
