Midfielders Matt Rosa and Aaron Hall suffered concussion during the round six match against North Melbourne.
In a quick pursuit of the ball, Rosa’s head was knocked by Sam Gibson's knee in the second quarter.
GM Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft, said medical staff diagnosed Rosa as soon as he left the field.
“Matty didn’t come back on after the second half, he suffered concussion, the doctors diagnosed that at the time,” he told goldcoastfc.com.au.
“He took no further place in the game.
“He’ll go through concussion protocols this week, we won’t know anything further until later in the week.”
Hall suffered a similar fate in the last term, with a blow to the head as a result of a hard tackle.
The 26-year-old immediately showed concussion symptoms and was taken to the rooms for full assessment.
“Again, he’ll go through the concussion protocols during the week and we’ll know more Thursday.”
More information on the status of Rosa and Hall will be provided on goldcoastfc.com.au once all concussion protocols are complete.
A full Optomo Injury Update, including information on the progress of Steven May and Rory Thompson, will be available early Tuesday evening.
