The Gold Coast SUNS have added two exciting Queensland players Tom Hickey and Joey Daye to its primary playing list.

Hickey, 19, was the best performing ruckman in the agility test at the recent NAB AFL Draft Combine and Daye, 20, has earned himself a spot after playing with the Gold Coast SUNS TAC Cup and VFL teams.

Both players will join the Gold Coast SUNS pre-season training program next week.

Gold Coast SUNS Football Manager Marcus Ashcroft said: “As a Queensland club we are committed to providing opportunities for young Queenslanders and we now have 10 locals on our list.

“Hickey is an exciting young ruckman who will provide another option for our other young talls and will also learn off former Collingwood player Josh Fraser. Daye gave himself every opportunity to be part of our list by working hard over the past two years in the TAC Cup and VFL sides. He has been able to develop himself and his skills to a point where he was a reliable member of the team and now gets the opportunity to play AFL in 2011.
