The Gold Coast SUNS have named a 29-man squad to tackle the West Coast Eagles at Patersons Stadium, Perth on Sunday.
Michael Rischitelli will have the honour of captaining the side in their first full hit under normal AFL match rules.
Rischitelli will replace Campbell Brown, who captained the side last week, with Brown set to be rested from this week’s match.
Rischitelli told goldcoastfc.com.au that he is looking forward to leading the team.
“I can’t wait, I haven’t captained a team before so on a personal note it’s exciting.”
“It is a young team, but I think the boys will put in a really good effort and hopefully we can come away with a win and progress further through the competition,” Rischitelli said.
GC SUNS Coach Guy McKenna said it will be a young team headed West for the match, but is confident the group will continue to rise to the challenge.
“It will be a further educational process for the group, our senior players are used to travelling, but it will be great to see how some of the younger boys adapt to travelling across the country,” McKenna added.
