The GC SUNS playing group have endured their toughest pre-season camp on record, with High Performance Manager Stephen Schwerdt leading the squad through a gruelling training program designed to increase their aerobic and fitness capacity.
Elite young gun Jaeger O’Meara looks set to make his official AFL debut against the Saints after a superb pre-season campaign through the NAB Cup, all but solidifying his spot in the GC SUNS best 22-side.
The Easter weekend clash will also mark a special occasion for experienced recruits Tom Murphy and Greg Broughton, with the match being the pairs first wearing the Gold Coast colours while chasing premiership points.
All ticket-holders to the GC SUNS Round 1 match will also gain entry through Gate 1 (2:50pm) to the curtain raiser, which will see the GC SUNS reserves take on Mt. Gravatt Vultures in their NEAFL season opener.
