Metricon Stadium continues to blaze the trail for stadium innovation as it launches another Australian first with the introduction of its pre-paid food and beverage ticketing system, PrePlay, at the final home game of the Gold Coast SUNS 2012 campaign against Carlton on Saturday 25 August.
The PrePlay system allows customers purchasing event tickets to load extra monetary value onto a PrePlay ticket which can be used at the event to purchase food and beverages around the stadium.
This progressive, cashless system will give customers the ability to quickly and easily redeem the loaded value by simply scanning their PrePlay tickets at outlets around Metricon Stadium.
With similar systems already in use throughout major Stadiums in Europe, the UK and USA, PrePlay combines solutions from systems providers Quest, Ticketmaster, Michael O’Brien Catering and Metricon Stadium and is the first of its kind in Australia.
Ticketmaster Chief Executive Officer, Chris Forbes is thrilled to be bringing this exciting and cutting-edge technology to Metricon Stadium customers. “PrePlay offers Metricon Stadium and their home team, the Gold Coast SUNS, the opportunity to tailor special incentives that deliver enhanced benefits to their customers, fans and members”. Project partner, Michael O’Brien Catering believes the PrePlay initiative will certainly enhance the game day experience for those attending Metricon Stadium, “PrePlay delivers a far greater level of convenience, giving patrons more time to enjoy the game day atmosphere.” Michael O’Brien said.
With plans to extend PrePlay’s capabilities to include Retail Merchandise sales and bespoke Membership cards ahead of the 2013 AFL Premiership Season, Quest Solutions General Manager of NCR Hospitality, Nick Wagnitz, is confident PrePlay will deliver ongoing benefits to customers.
