Matt Shaw and Luke Russell look likely to be in the mix for senior selection for round 4 of the NAB Cup.

Shaw, who has enjoyed a strong pre-season campaign under High Performance Manager Stephen Schwerdt, will be available for senior selection after missing the past two matches with an illness.

Meanwhile, the GC SUNS have a decision to make on Luke Russell. Russell missed last weekend’s match against Sydney with a minor knee injury.

General Manager - Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft said a final decision on whether the 186cm Tasmanian would lace up the boots against Melbourne this Saturday would be determined by the match committee.

“Luke suffered had a minor knee complaint last week, and we will need to determine if its in his best interests to play this week, or miss another week to ensure the injury is 100% for round 1,” said Ashcroft.

The 21-year-old will be looking to build on his strong 2012 season, where he appeared in 14 games for the GC SUNS before a shoulder injury ultimately ended his promising campaign.
