The cream of women’s football in Queensland will be on show in the All-Stars curtain raiser to the Gold Coast SUNS v St Kilda clash at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

As part of the build up to the 2015 AFL Women’s Draft, the best players in Queensland are split into two team: the Gold Coast SUNS and the Brisbane Lions.

There is no allegiance to either side as the All-Stars concept comprise players from the state’s new Women’s Talent Academy, the 2015 Youth Girls Academy and players hand-picked from regional leagues.

One player running out for the SUNS in the curtain raiser has a close connection to the AFL side with Hannah Sexton being the sister of Gold Coast utility Alex.  The coach of the women’s side, Aaron Rogers, is also one of the SUNS academy coaches.
