Gold Coast SUNS spearhead Tom Lynch has been crowned the 2016 Fans Player of the Year following a glittering season at Metricon Stadium.
Lynch booted 66 goals to finish third in the Coleman Medal race and led the competition in contested marks, an impressive feat in a season that yielded just six wins for the team.
The SUNS vice-captain finished third in the fan-voted award in 2015 but polled 348 votes this year to finish well clear of key defender Steven May (239) and skipper Gary Ablett (207).
May stormed home in the count, collecting 214 votes in the second half of the season, but it wasn’t enough to catch the runaway leader.
Midfielders Aaron Hall (181) and Touk Miller (179) rounded on the top five.
