Ahead of Saturday afternoon’s clash against Gold Coast, the West Coast Eagles have recalled three of their most experienced players.
Key defender Eric Mackenzie returns for his first AFL game since round one, however there is talk that he could line up as a forward to cover for the injured Josh Kennedy, who will miss with a calf injury sustained against the Giants last week.
Mark LeCras and Luke Shuey both return to the team after missing one game with hip and calf injuries respectively.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson said the pair needed to prove their fitness at Friday’s captain’s run to cement their spot in the side.
Young forward Malcom Karpany and midfielder Chris Masten are the other two omissions from the team, however both have travelled to the Gold Coast as emergencies.
