In pleasing news, the Gold Coast SUNS have no new injuries from the weekend’s AFL and VFL action.
Young defender Jez McLennan missed the VFL match against Sydney with a groin strain but is expected to be back in action this weekend.
“Jez is going really well,” SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update.
“We were pretty cautious in resting him from the VFL game on the weekend and we hope that he will train fully tomorrow and be available for selection as well.”
Zac Smith also made a successful return from his medium-term knee injury and Bull said the ruckman would be available again at either VFL or AFL level.
“Zac’s pulled up really well – he played well and finished a full game in the VFL,” Bull said.
“He’ll train fully this week and then it will be up to the coaches and Zac as to where he plays his football this weekend.”
