Whether you're a SUNS diehard or an AFL novice, SUNS TV is a fun family show that delivers a side of AFL footy you haven't seen before.
Airing every game day on Seven Mate right before match coverage, SUNS TV will not only take viewers into the inner sanctum of the Gold Coast SUNS, but will shine a light on the Queensland community.
The 30 minute, weekly free to air show will be hosted by Queensland television personality Jess Skarratt and shot on location around Queensland. SUNS TV will have more than enough footy Intel for die hard fans with weekly segments that include “Talking Tactics” with Guy McKenna and “Heart to Heart” with GC SUNS reserves coach, Shaun Hart.
At the same time SUNS TV will look at other aspects of Queensland life with feature stories from around the state with, “Spotlight in the Community”, that this week will include a special on the GC SUNS recent trip to Bamaga on the Gulf of Carpentaria.
GC SUNS fans will have the opportunity to interact with their favourite players by asking questions in “SUNS Social Media” and getting to know their players better on “Favourite SUNS” and “60 seconds of SUNShine”.
Executive Producer and GC SUNS Head of Communications and Content Jason Sintome said, "We're really excited about SUNS TV. It's a great opportunity to give not only our fans but AFL and sports fans in general a different look at our game and our people. It also gives us a chance to highlight the things we love about Queensland"
In an age where fans are reaching out for more and more interaction with their favourite players and teams than ever before, SUNS TV provides an exciting vehicle for the club to connect with sports fans across multiple digital platforms and join in the Game day conversations on Twitter and Facebook.
SUNS TV will be broadcast ahead of each Gold Coast SUNS Home and away game in 2012, providing Queenslanders with an entertaining and informative look at one of the countries most exciting sporting organisations.
From a community perspective GC SUNS CEO Travis Auld said “SUNS TV” will provide unprecedented exposure of the Clubs work in Communities across Queensland and Nth New South Wales.
“Community is at the forefront of everything we do as a Club with the playing group and administration spending in excess of five thousand hours working in the Community with many of the Clubs chosen programs and associated charities each year. To be able to put a spotlight on the many programs and bring further awareness to their causes is a great benefit. Our reach as a Club extends right up to the northern boundaries of Queensland and SUNS TV is a fantastic vehicle to spread our message.” said Auld.
Adhering Queensland sports fans to the SUNS brand is also a key driver for SUNS TV with the Club hopeful of gaining the support of regional Queenslanders who may not be able to attend regular AFL matches at Metricon Stadium.
The first episode of SUNS TV will be screened on Seven Mate, this Saturday at 11:00am, with the show to find a regular timeslot of 30 minutes prior to the start of the GC SUNS remaining 21 games of the season.
The Gold Coast SUNS Production team are partnering with award winning Gold Coast Digital Production agency LMG digital Media to produce SUNS TV.
