AARON Hall says Saturday’s clash against Port Adelaide is all about redemption for the Gold Coast SUNS after the Power delivered a 38-point whacking at Metricon Stadium earlier this year.

“They came up here and gave us a bit of a touch up in one of the quarters before going on to seal the victory, so we want to go over there and earn a bit of respect back,” he said.

“Hopefully we can improve on last week’s victory against the Demons and get the win.”

It was a difficult night for Guy McKenna, with his players given a harsh reality check after being ultra competitive in the opening three rounds against St. Kilda, Brisbane Lions and reigning premiership Sydney.

However, Hall is confident things will be different this time around – as the playing group look to build off their momentum with a consecutive win against a top eight finalist.

“We knew Melbourne was going to come out against us and put in a good effort and they certainly did that,” he said.

“They definitely beat us in the contested football but we were fortunate enough to walk away with the win.

“We know we have areas to improve on and we will be looking to do just that in the lead up to our match against Port Adelaide.”

Having built a close friendship with Gary Ablett outside of the football Club, Hall said he was pleased the players could help their inspirational skipper celebrate his milestone match with a win.

“Obviously I’ve become pretty close with Gaz and it’s a great achievement by him to reach the 250 games,” he said.

“Arguably one of the best to ever play the game and to be out there alongside him was a privilege.”

It’s been a break-out season for Hall, appearing in all 19 Premiership matches so far after notching up ten matches in 2012.

But despite having cemented his spot in the forwardline, Hall is refusing to get too carried away, telling goldcoastfc.com.au is only focus is finishing the season strong in a bid to return bigger and better in 2014.

“My goal heading into the season was to cement a spot in the senior team and play every game,” Hall said.

“I’ve played every game to date and hopefully I can put in a couple of good seasons to finish off the year and go into the pre-season with a bit of momentum.”
