Gold Coast midfielder Michael Barlow has undergone scans on his jaw after receiving an accidental boot to the face during last week’s NEAFL game against Southport.
Senior Coach Stuart Dew told goldcoastfc.com.au that the 30-year-old will have surgery on Friday to repair a fractured jaw.
Barlow could be set to miss between 1-4 weeks, depending on the outcome of the surgery.
“(He) copped a knock really early (during the game against Southport) on the weekend, so it’s disappointing for Mick,” Dew said.
“He’ll get some surgery and then depending on how it looks when they get in there…we should have him back (within) max a month I’d say.”
“But it could be 1-4 weeks, it’s one of those ones that until they actually get in to see, we’ll know more after that.”
