This weekend, Townsville and Mackay will play host to Gold Coast SUNS’ Women’s Football Talent ID Days.
The testing days will aim to identify talented female footballers in preparation for the SUNS’ entry into the AFLW competition in 2020.
Lauren Bella will be no stranger when she heads to Mackay to help facilitate the day.

The local girl made the move to the Gold Coast earlier in the year to pursue her studies and football career at Bond University and is very much looking forward to heading home for the weekend.
“I get to see all my family, just be at home, see my friends, so it will be really good to go back home” Bella said
“To be able to see all of the girls and I want to see how they’ve developed as well.
“I haven’t been gone that long but I’m sure it’ll be interesting to see the results of the girls back home compared to the girls here.”
Bella recently participated in the testing day held on the Gold Coast and was able to provide some advice for the girls ahead of this weekend.
“Basically just take it in your stride, try your best, it’s just testing, it’ll get you set up for the future, just give the coaches a basic idea so don’t stress on it too much, just do what you know.”
As well as training with the Gold Coast SUNS Academy, Bella will also train and play with the Bond University Bull Sharks this season, who have been recently elevated to the QWAFL division.
